Project #3 - "The Living Room" Part 5 Work is in full swing...

Well, now that winter is over and the weather is nice once again we start construction/demo.  More drywall has gone up and painting has commenced.  Work has started on the stairs, since carpet was ordered a few weeks ago.  My wife is looking forward to actually using the living room this summer.

This door was originally reversed and opened
into the small hallway connecting the living
and dining areas.

Project #3 - "The living room" Part 4 Drywall Continued....

This winter was horrible for getting work completed on the house.  We had to much snow for my taste and every time I had a chance to pick up materials from the hardware store the snow prevented it.

We can't wait for summer this year!!!

Project #3 - "The living room" Part 3 Drywall

Well my attempt to complete the living room before Christmas was a bust due to a last minute trip to New York City for work.  But I did manage to get alot done before and after returning.  The electrician was out and wired up all the recessed lighting, outlets, and double checked some of the questionable wiring left in place.

I installed these two sheets by myself before the guys showed up.

Project #3 - "The living room" Part 2 SUPPORT/ELECTRICAL

With demolition completed we can now start on rebuilding the living room. The original plan was to remove as much of the dry-bar, chimney, and half wall.  Well as you can see some of those plans changed.

The chimney was to badly damaged to remove and was never removed from the second and third floors.  So taking it out would have been a pain in the butt.  The dry-bar was also unable to be completely removed because of the tunnel under that part of the house.  The only thing I was able to remove was the half wall, at-least its something.

Project #3 - "The living room" Part 1 DEMO

Now that we have the backyard and kitchen under control and completed we finally started the living room.  This is a highly anticipated project for the family.  Not only because we didn't like the layout of the current living room but once completed we would feel comfortable having guest over.  Not to mention removing outdated electrical and decor.

I have already had the windows replaced.
