Project #3 - "The living room" Part 3 Drywall

Well my attempt to complete the living room before Christmas was a bust due to a last minute trip to New York City for work.  But I did manage to get alot done before and after returning.  The electrician was out and wired up all the recessed lighting, outlets, and double checked some of the questionable wiring left in place.

I installed these two sheets by myself before the guys showed up.
Now since I managed to hang two sheets by myself in two hours, with my buddies coming over the next day we should wrap up the room in no time.

Wrong, its like working with my two older sons.  There was a bunch of cussing, swearing, a pencil was thrown, and i had to take away sharp objects.  Oh and even though I said the rooms were not square my buddies kept trying to treat it like it was.

All in all they were a huge help and my shoulders and back were killing me after screwing in all the drywall.

The next day I took off from work and dry-walled until I actually ran out of drywall.  I also had to drive down to the train station in Harrisburg to pickup my sons.  Boy are they happy to carry more Drywall for me before they head home after Christmas.

Yeap, two guys on one ladder measuring.

Some areas required some creative layouts.

Look recessed lighting.

Gaps from the "not square" comments

I managed to finish the reading nook later that night.

The next day before picking my sons up from the train.

Drywall is done in the nook

Some areas will need some TLC with the mud.

I love this area.

Capped the window casements

Always save your scrap drywall
